The National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation (NACOSTI) showcased its excellence at the Mombasa International Show, running from the 4th to 8th of September 2024. The event, themed “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” The event strategically presents an opportunity for branding, networking and showcasing of services. It drew participants from across the country, focusing on innovations in climate-smart agriculture, trade, and sustainable economic practices.
NACOSTI, led by its Director General, Prof. Walter Oyawa, received accolades for its outstanding contributions in various categories. The commission won 2nd position for “The Stand that Best Interprets the Current Show Theme” in the education and research category, which highlighted its efforts to advance research and education initiatives aligned with the show’s theme. Additionally, NACOSTI was awarded 2nd place for “The Best Display and Services in the Health Sector and Pharmaceuticals Stand,” showcasing its dedication to promoting innovation and excellence in health and pharmaceuticals.
The opening ceremony was graced by His Excellency Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who presented awards to various participating organizations. In his address, the Deputy President praised the participants for their efforts in promoting Kenya’s socio-economic development through innovation and sustainable practices.
