Funded by the Kingdom of Bahrain and established in 2005, the Prize rewards projects that use new technologies to enhance teaching, learning and overall education performance. The theme of the 2020 edition is “The use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance the continuity and quality of learning”. Special attention will be given to projects that provide access to education in remote areas or aim to improve the availability and affordability of connectivity for education and learning.
Two awards will be granted, and each recipient will receive a monetary award of USD 25,000.
- The nomination process takes place via an online platform
- A National Commission can access the online platform with the username (in the format natcom.yourcountryname@natcom.unesco.org) and the password associated with the UNESCO account of the National Commission
- An applicant can request the access to the online platform here: http://www.unesco.org/ict-ed-prize/regist
- The online nominations in English or French should be submitted by 18 December 2020 (midnight, Paris time).
