The National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), in line with its mandate and function of promoting increased awareness, knowledge and information of research system and advising on science education and innovation at both basic and advanced levels, made a remarkable impact at the recently concluded Kitale National show, which took place from 9th -12th October 2024.
In its stand NACOSTI was visited by secondary school students who received mentorship in STEM subjects with an objective of unlocking their potential in STEM for a secure & sustainable future. This mentorship was meant to quip them with relevant information to enable them to make informed career choices and to boost their interest in STEM education.
Other clientele at the NACOSTI stand were county officials seeking collaboration with NACOSTI to ensure that the research being conducted within county level is licensed and to enhance safety of the local communities, County residents were sensitized on the functions of the commission. NACOSTI plans to further engage with county fraternities through establishing county technology and innovations advisory and prospecting centres to coordinate technology transfer and adoption.
NACOSTI’s participation at the show demonstrates its dedication to advancing research, innovation, and sustainable development in Kenya.
